Life Through Her Eyes: 20

You can't stop being one, you do not want to stop!

Despite you never seeing the sea

Despite you never walking safe

Despite you never breathing free

Despite you contemplating leaving

Despite you contemplating disconnecting

Despite you contemplating your life’s worth

Despite you actually leaving

Despite you not being political

Despite you wondering what it is like to be someone else

Despite you giving up in a weak moment

Your roots pull you back in, thankfully

Your blood is red

Your hair is black

Your heart is white

And your grass is green

Everywhere you look you remember

What it is to be Palestinian

What it is to call her home
